Claudeing Around is a casual Discord community for anyone using or tinkering with the Claude product suite: Claude Code, the apps, the API, MCPs, agents and artifacts. Ask questions, show what you've built, help someone else get unstuck.
It is unofficial. I run it, not Anthropic, and it has no affiliation with them.
It is a focused, social community: the conversation stays on Claude and what people are doing with it, and people help each other out.
Who it's for
Anyone who uses Claude and wants company doing it. That includes people writing their first prompt in the app, people running agents in production, and everyone in between. You don't need to be an expert, and you don't need to be building anything in particular.
The channels
Information channels are read-only, with threads open, so discussion hangs off the post it is about.
- #welcome-and-rules for the rules and how the server works.
- #announcements for server news.
- #claude-news for official Claude product news: model releases and feature updates, posted daily.
- #in-the-wild for what people outside Anthropic are building with Claude. A daily pick of up to five items from Hacker News, GitHub and independent writers, always linked to the source. Seen something good? Share it in #general, or reply in the thread under a post.
- #notes-resources for useful links and references, including a podcast list.
Talk channels are where the conversation happens.
- #general for anything Claude.
- #claude-code for the CLI, agents and workflows.
- #api-and-sdk for building with the API and SDK.
- #mcps-and-agents for MCPs, custom agents and tool use.
- #certification for studying towards a Claude or Anthropic certification, or helping others through one.
- #showcase for sharing what you've built.
- #off-topic for everything else.
There is also a voice channel, the Lounge, for talking rather than typing.
How to use it
The rules are short and most of them are common sense.
- Be civil.
- Stay on topic. The server is about Claude and AI tinkering; general chatter goes in #off-topic.
- Never paste secrets. No API keys, tokens or passwords, even when you're asking for debugging help. Anything that looks like a leaked key is removed automatically and flagged.
- Don't come here to hunt for jailbreaks. Discussing how the model behaves and where its limits are is fine; getting round them as the point of the exercise is not.
- No unsolicited self-promotion. Projects go in #showcase. Ask a mod before linking your own product anywhere else.
- English first.
- No piracy, and no content that breaks terms of service.
- Follow the mods. It goes warnings, then timeouts, then kicks, then bans.
On safety: you need to verify before you can post, moderators need two-factor, there are automatic filters for scams and leaked keys, and there are no third-party bots on the server.
I greet new people myself, so say hello when you arrive and tell us what you're working on or wondering about. If you help other people, that gets noticed: there is a Helper role, awarded as a badge of trust to members who regularly help others get unstuck.
The best thing you can bring is a question you're stuck on or something you've built that you're pleased with. Both start conversations.
Certification
Some members are studying for Claude or Anthropic certifications. #certification is a place to study together, share what helped, and support anyone else going through the same thing. If you've already been through one, your notes on what to focus on are worth more than you'd think.
Join
Joining takes a short application, and I approve them myself, usually within a day. Come and say hello.
